Artist Frank Frazetta is dead at the age of 82. For my money he was the premier illustrator in the fantasy genre. If you like busty babes battling demons he was your man.
Frank Frazetta had a HUGE influence on me becoming an artist, and on my style of art (and I am sure there are lots of people who can say the same thing). Somehow I missed the fact that he had passed away until just today (5-12-2011). It was then that I realized that the desktop on my computer was in fact one of my favorite Frazetta paintings.
I did a paper on him back in art school, and I got a 'D' on the paper, not because it was a bad paper, but because the teacher didn't consider Frazetta a 'true artist'.
Sometimes ignorance is bliss. I feel like a good friend has died.
